I believe February will be a very interesting weather month. Today’s Springtime Tease was just that, a tease. February 2025 is about to take us on a weather rollercoaster that should keep everyone on their toes. From spring-like warmth to winter’s icy grip, this month promises to be anything but boring.

(February 3-8)
I’ve been dreaming of Spring days. They’re making an early appearance! The month kicks off with a generous warmth, pushing thermometers into the upper 60s and low 70s. It’s nature’s little preview of spring, complete with mild mornings perfect for that outdoor run you’ve been putting off.
What’s in store:
- Very nice warm afternoons reaching the 70s
- Morning temperatures that won’t have you shivering
- A few rain showers to keep things interesting, but nothing to cancel your plans over
Winter’s “Not So Fast!” Moment (February 9-16)
Just when you’re getting comfortable with those spring vibes, winter comes roaring back, and the mercury takes a dramatic plunge, with temperatures retreating to the 30s and 40s. It’s Mother Nature’s way of reminding us that winter isn’t quite finished with Memphis and the South yet.
Expect the following:
- A sharp temperature drop that will have us digging out those winter coats again
- Daytime highs struggling to climb out of the 30s and 40s
- Overnight temperatures flirting with or dipping below freezing
- Possible rain, though another Winter Storm can’t be ruled out
The Deep Freeze Returns (February 17 and Beyond)
The latter half of February might just bring the coldest numbers of the month. We’re looking at temperatures that could have a hard time reaching the 30s, with overnight lows diving into the 20s or even colder.
That’s the time period when there could be
- The month’s coldest temperatures
- Wind chills that’ll make those temperatures feel even more bitter
- True winter conditions, minus any significant snowfall
